Why Choose Real World Fitness?

New year, new gym?
But why would I pay you guys £50 a month, when I can go to Pure Gym for £15?
Good question.
And the answer probably depends on a few things.
How seriously do you take your training?
Plenty of people train properly at big commercial gyms. It would be lazy of us to pretend that everyone at a Pure-type gym is clueless and doesn't train properly. There's certainly a larger demographic like that, but not all.
At RWF, very few people are in the gym to "just turn up". Pretty much everyone is following a plan, and has a fairly specific goal in mind. That tends to mean that results come a little quicker, and the lifters are generally more knowledgeable and helpful to each other.
How closely do you follow a proper, structured training plan?
We have loads of equipment - and particularly, we have multiples of the stuff people actually use. Squat racks, benches, bars, calibrated weights. It's highly unlikely you'll ever have to change your training plan or substitute an exercise at RWF.
How often have you turned up for leg day to find there's zero chance of getting on your gym's one squat rack? We think that's worth paying for.
How competent are you, technically, at lifting?
Its a sad fact that most big box gyms have a very low standard of personal training and/or floor staff. We know all our gym members, and every member of staff here is excellent with advice and coaching. If you're doing something wrong and need some help, you'll get it here.
Do you prefer cardio to weight training?
We fall down here - if CV is your thing (beyond some spinning and a quick Concept2), we're not going to be your cup of tea!
The environment you lift in
Gym cliches are cliches for a reason - the guy perving on the girls, the big lad glaring at anyone using "his" equipment, the 5 guys yelling at each other on the bench press, the guys in vest tops spending longer flexing in the mirror than training, the girls in full make-up on the cross-trainer...yeah, we don't really go in for all that here.
Fine if you like that kind of thing - but we don't, and our members don't. We'd rather just create a place you can bring your family, bring your kids, bring your dog and get some training done.
So - that's why we're not really fussed what other people charge for gym membership. Enough people want something a little more focused on the training, and don't mind paying a few pence a day extra for the privilege.
