My gym is too busy
My gym is too busy that I can't follow my program. This is something I hear this a lot from friends, or clients who also train at another gym outside of their personal training sessions at Real World Fitness. Most commercial gyms have loads of cardio equipment, but no where near enough strength equipment for how many members they have. This results in people not being able to do what they had planned on doing.
I was chatting to a personal trainer at one of the biggest gym chains in the country and I asked her how they write a program for her clients. She told me she has to change the session every time depending on what equipment was free. This clearly isn't optimal. I've written before about the importance of following a plan and not just turning up and randomly doing what you feel like.
Fortunately that isn't a problem at Real World Fitness. We have, 7 squat racks, 4 flat benches, two deadlift platforms and plenty of barbells (none are bent) while keeping our members down to 100. This means that you never have to wait to do any of the main lifts, or change your program. You also won't feel rushed having people always asking you how many sets you have left as they want to get on the equipment
So why do people decide to train at these gyms when there are better options? Often it's because it's cheaper or closer to where they live. While these are good reasons, if you're putting time and money into the gym, don't you want to get results? Are those results worth an extra £5 a week? Or an extra 10 minutes in the car?
The clients that train at the gym always achieve better results than my clients who have PT with me and then go to a commercial gym. You can read about Real World Fitness here.
