Reverse Hyper
The reverse hyper was developed by Westside Barbell’s Louie Simmons, who is one of the top powerlifting coaches in the world. Simmons was dealing with significant injuries and originally used the reverse hyper for rehabilitating his back and spine. The reverse hyper reduces lower back tightness and strengthen hamstrings, glutes, hips, and more. It does all this without loading the spine. Many people have found that it has reduced, or got rid of any back pain they had been experiencing.
It's not seen in many gyms, but we do have one at Real World Fitness.
How to use the Reverse Hyper
I tend to use high reps when using the reverse hyper.
,For example
5 x 25, 4x 20, 4 x 10, 4 x 12 etc

How to use the Reverse Hyper
- With your feet in the strap, place your body on the pads with your hips should be at the end of the pads.
- The legs should be held straight and lift the legs until your ankles are roughly in line with your shoulders and hips. Keep your head and neck neutral and in line with your body.
- Squeeze the glutes and the top and control it on the way down. While you should be in control, reps should be done in a fluid motion. You should be able to stop the movement at any time.
